About Us
Introduction
Pearsons Glass was founded in Liverpool, England in 1901 as J Pearson and Company specialising in silvering, bevelling and the manufacture of both overmantels (for fire places) and cabinets.
Surviving two world wars, we became Pearsons Glass Limited in 1977 and are still run by the same family today with the same values.
Pearsons Glass is a founder member of the Glass and Glazing Federation and has represented the UK Glass Industry on technical, wage negotiation and General Council committees.
Major investment since 1977 has seen Pearsons expand until today we have upwards of 50,000ft² of production and warehouse space in Liverpool, (still our main headquarters) and Greenford Middlesex.
Today The Pearsons Glass Group operates in two main sectors in the UK.
Processing Division
The Company is committed to constant updating of machinery with new technologies and processes allowing us to maintain high quality standards and production flexibility.
This investment in machinery coupled with our staff training programme ensures we are always able to offer the best service at competitive prices.
Coloured Glass Division
The Coloured Glass Division began in the early 1980’s and has continually developed and grown since then, including takeovers of James Hetley & Co and the Bohle Art Glass division.
There are now two dedicated stained glass depots serving the UK, situated in Liverpool and Greenford Middlesex.
Coloured glass partners
Over the years Pearsons Glass has developed a network of contacts throughout the world from manufacturers to research and development partners. Through this network we exchange ideas and source our comprehensive ranges of hot and cold glasses- from machine made to hand blown antique as well as tools, materials, equipment and decorative products for many processes.
The Pearsons Prize
The PEARSONS PRIZE, launched in 2005, was created to promote the use of glass in both functional and decorative art forms. Prizes are awarded to students, amateurs and professionals who demonstrate the best use of glass through a range of processes and techniques. Winners receive prize money and free products as well as promotional opportunities through Pearsons Glass and our suppliers.
