Microwave Kiln Fusing
Microwave Kiln Fusing - half day - 16th November 2012
Suitable for beginners and improvers

Discover the fascinating technique of ‘instant’ fusing in a standard, domestic microwave. You will make several small items including jewellery pieces and small tiles, which are fused, annealed and cooled before your eyes.

The past, present and future of microwave fusing is discussed, as well as glass cutting, various fusing materials and how they work together. The course also covers technical explanations, how glass behaves when heated and cooled, and why some glasses are not compatible with others

The course tutor is Robert Beaver, Stained Glass Manager at Pearsons Glass for the last 8 years. The course is held at our fully equipped studio at 32 Wellington Park, Dunes Way, Liverpool L5 9RJ.

You will only need to bring a sturdy pair of shoes, as all materials, glass, tools and safety equipment are provided. We also supply refreshments on site.

N.B. This course runs from 9.30am - 12.30pm.
